Window Style
We first want to assess the style and physical characteristics of your windows.
A window with attractive, shapely architecture can be an asset to be accentuated by its curtains or treatments. A basic window, on the other hand, might need imaginative & creative curtains or treatments to liven the way the room looks and feels.
We take a cue from the rest of the room by using your existing design elements as inspiration. Is a particular architectural style evident in the moldings or in the shapes of doors and windows? Are there decorative features such as tile work, patterns on the floor, or carved facades of wood or plaster? Do you have furniture or certain colors you want to incorporate into the design?
Modern, Transitional, or Traditional
Modern interiors look highly tailored with ripple fold draperies paired with simple roller shades, while more traditional spaces are likely to have lined draperies with sheers, and wood poles or cornices. Transitional interiors can have a combination of all of the above.
Some of the Looks we can Create Include:
Pinch Pleat Draperies
Traditionally used on windows and doors where they need to be opened and closed frequently. The design of the pinch pleat curtains & drapery allows the panels to fold accordingly at the creases when they are drawn back.
Gathered Rod Pocket
Generally used for side panels, sidelights, and small windows. By design they are stationary.
Tab Top
Excellent for use with wood & metal poles.
Grommet Top
Paired with metal poles for a more casual look
Cornices
Constructed of an upholstered wood box. Cornices can be made in many different shapes and can be suited to many styles of curtains & drapery décor.
Ripple fold
Provides a more contemporary style to draperies. This method can be used not only with a decorative pole but also works well with an architectural track system for a cleaner, streamlined look.
Valances
Assembled on sewing machines then attached to a board placed above the window. They can be suited to many styles of curtains & drapery décor.
Swags & Jabots
Assembled on sewing machines then overlapped on a board placed above the window.
